Leianne S. Crittenden is Vice President, Chief Counsel for Oracle Financing Division, the global vendor financing unit of Oracle Corporation, the largest provider of database software in the world.
Ms. Crittenden received her BA in history (with distinction) from Stanford University in 1977. She studied at the Florence, Italy and Vienna, Austria campuses. She earned her JD/MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1981.
She participates on various committees relating to financing intellectual property rights, bankruptcy and secured transactions with respect to intellectual property for the American Bar Association and the Equipment Leasing and Financing Association. She has given presentations to ABA committees, ELA legal forums, Practising Law Institute seminars, the National Conference on Bankruptcy Judges, Fulcrum Seminars, the Financial Lawyers Conference, UNCITRAL’s Colloquium on Security Interests in Intellectual Property, and WIPO.
She is currently Chair of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section’s International Coordinating Committee. Previously she was Co-Chair of the Section’s Committee on Corporate Counsel, past Chair of the Secured Transactions Subcommittee of the ABA’s UCC Committee, and from 2002 through 2005 was Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Financing Subcommittee of the ABA’s Commercial Financial Services Committee. She has also participated in the Intellectual Property Section of the ABA as a member of Special Committee On Security Interests (Committee 457) and Subcommittee On Federal Recordation and Patent Legislation Committee (Committee 101). In addition, she was a member of the ELFA’s Legal Committee, and co-chaired their Software Financing and Software Bankruptcy subcommittees. She is President Elect and has been a Regent of the American College of Commercial Financial Lawyers. In addition, she is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and is an elected member of the American Law Institute, as well as a member of ALI-ABA’s Business and Corporate Law Advisory Panel.
Prior to joining Oracle in 1996, she worked at the US Leasing division of USL Capital Corporation in San Francisco. She was responsible for middle market leasing transactions, lease syndication and wholesale vendor programs, and securitized both municipal leases and auto leases. Before that, she was an associate in Morrison & Foerster’s corporate group in San Francisco. Before that, she worked as an investment banker in mortgage backed securities for Dean Witter Reynolds, Inc., and as in-house counsel at Sears Mortgage Securities Corporation.
At Oracle she is responsible for legal matters for the vendor financing unit, which operates in over 65 countries to provide Oracle’s customers with installment payment and lease payment options for their acquisition of Oracle products and services.
